Resume trends come and go along with the preferences of hiring managers, HR professionals and recruiters. Here’s 24 questions to test your resume knowledge. Don’t cheat! Answer the TRUE or FALSE questions honestly and record your first response before checking against the answers at the bottom. Good luck!

  1. Although rare, the perfect resume does exist.
  2. The functional resume is the resume of choice in North America.
  3. A powerful resume should be no longer than 3 pages.
  4. It is important to have both a 2-page resume and a CV.
  5. You should never use the personal pronouns “I”, “me” or “my” in your resume.

  18. Action verbs are a critical element of your accomplishment and responsibility statements.
  19. A 20-second review of a resume should clearly determine your employment goal as well as your related hard and soft skills.

  21. Recruiters use resumes to exclude, not include, candidates.
