Some interesting stats collated here concerning the usage of the major social networking sites as of Spring 2012.
The interesting point we take from these statistics is the degree to which LinkedIn trails most other networks in terms of absolute user numbers. It's the obvious place for recruiters to turn owing to the quality of the career data that is presented in its profiles. But the more ambitious recruiter surely has to look at the reach of these other platforms and think "what candidate nuggets could I source by tapping more effectively into these networks?"
Recruiters who crack that nut will have a real competitive advantage going into the next hiring frenzy, whenever that should materialise...
